Due to my experiences today, I would like to give all the ladies some advice about menstrual cramps.
-Relax your body and mind...
Part of cramping is due to uterus muscles contracting to push fluid out
of your body. Sit or lay down, making sure your abdomen isn't
scrunched together. Relax your mind by removing yourself from every-day
stresses and focus on making your body well.
-Drink hot liquids and water...
Do not drink anything with caffeine! Caffeine increases your
energy, and if you are trying to relax, your body will become restless
making it harder to relax. Hot liquids help increase your blood flow and
relax the muscles. I drink decaf green tea. Water is for hydration.
It's never good to be dehydrated, particularly during menstruation!
-Use the bathroom regularly...
I am giving this tip from experience! I feel like my cramps hurt
worse when I have to use the bathroom. Maybe it has something to do with
the bladder putting pressure on the uterus?
-Do NOT use tampons...
Yes, a bit gross. Give your body a break and let things flow naturally.
You don't have to get rid of them completely, only when your cramps are
intense or when you're just lounging around.
There
are so many other tips I could give you! But, this is what I've done in
the past to help me. I hope this was a bit informative and helpful.
